RF Wireless Microphone "Rules of Thumb": Wireless Monitoring
Use directional antennas for IEM transmitters. This will minimize unwanted reflections.
If a transmitter is in close proximity to a monitoring receiver, a phenomenon known as "blocking" could result. Position the monitoring receiver apart from a body pack transmitter, preferably on the opposite side of the body. If a handheld transmitter will be used, position the monitoring receiver in such a way that the talent won't accidentally bring the transmitter right next to the monitoring receiver. Also, operate wireless monitor systems in a frequency range that is at least 8 MHz away from wireless mic frequencies.
Use an active antenna combiner for multichannel systems.
Use a short cable length between transmitter and its antenna.
Operate in mono mode for long range applications.
